From the Rehearsal Studio – Week 8 (The Final Session)

Welcome to The Little Farm!

Welcome to The Little Farm!

It. Is. The. Final. Session!! Oh. My. Gosh!!

We started the session with physical and vocal warm-ups- essential for every actor! The full cast came ready with costumes, props, their lines and enthusiasm! It was great to see the actors looking out for one another on stage and helping out when someone forgets her line. Nice work, team!

When it came to dressing up, everyone knew what they had to do and had no problems putting on their costumes and make-up. This time, our cheerful Bunny was all ready to dab some make-up on every actor. She’s definitely the Make-Up Artist in this production. Also, a big THANK YOU to our wonderful Set and Costume Designer who got everything ready for us!

It has been a fun journey!

It has been a fun journey!

Come Sunday, The Little Farm will premiere at Futakotamagawa! It has been a really fun and exciting journey full of discovery, improvements, and laughter. Everyone went through the process of staging and not merely following the orders of the director. I hope the audience can appreciate our colorful albeit short performance! Now, let’s close our eyes and pretend that we will put on another 20 sold-out shows! Hehehe.

And the moral of the story is...?

Actors, are you ready for our show? Girls, break a leg!

Audience, have you slotted us into your schedule? You can’t miss this! There will be snacks and other fun things there too!

From the Rehearsal Studio – Week 7

Full dress rehearsal today

Full dress rehearsal today

Week 7 is here and so are our costumes and props! We couldn’t bring the full set (too big and too many!) but we did rehearse with the props, and in our costumes! It was a lot of fun figuring out the best hairstyles and the best ways to put on our costumes. We’ll be doing another full dress rehearsal the next session too! So exciting!

Special guest and assistant, Riku!

Special guest assistant, Riku!

These few weeks have been very busy for our Set and Costume Designer. Fortunately (??), we had special help from our shy but chatty assistant! We also challenged ourselves to create props and sets under a very tight budget, meaning that we use recycled materials as much as possible. If only the participants are older, they would definitely be involved in the designing and creating too!

Pass the drawing!

Pass the drawing, please!

After our full dress rehearsals, we played some games to freshen up and strengthen our teamwork. I think our teamwork proved to be great during our Group Count game! Amazing!! With such teamwork, I’m sure that we can put up our best performance for everyone on March 6. Everyone, let’s do our best!!

Marshmallow pops for all!

Marshmallow pops for everyone~!! Week 6 started off with sugar high energy! We rehearsed our whole play twice today, including intermission and curtain call. Curtain call was new to everyone, so we made sure that everyone understood what and how to do. Please look forward to it!

Making costumes

We talked about our costumes and hairstyles too. Everyone has to get ready for costume fitting and full dress rehearsal in the upcoming session. We had a good laugh experimenting with different hairstyles. We’ll be needing lots of hairpins and hairspray!

Please come and watch us!

There are only two more sessions left before the big day! We’ve got to continue rehearsing to make sure that we’re putting up our best performance on March 6. Rehearsals can be tiring, but like the old saying goes, “Practice makes perfect improvement.”. We can do this!

Don’t forget the date- March 6, 2016 (SUN)!
Don’t forget the time either- Door opens 15:00; Performance begins ~15:10
And, of course, the venue- Futako Tamagawa Chiku Kaikan Bekkan

Until then!
